When I came across this poem in the old book, "Words of Life,"I couldn't help thinking of the tragic incident that took place a few weeks ago in the Gulf of Mexico. Two NFL players and two of their friends went out on a day of fishing in a small boat. They encountered rising wind and turbulent waves and then the boat flipped over. Three men vanished and one rescued still clinging to the overturned boat.
From VOYAGERS
When outward bound we boldly sail
And leave the friendly shore,
Let not our hearts of courage fail
Before the voyage is o'er.
We trust in Thee, whate'er befall;
Thy sea is great, our boats are small.
When homeward bound we gladly turn,
O bring us safely there,
Where harbour-lights of friendship burn
And peace is in the air.
We trust in Thee, whate'er befall;
Thy sea is great, our boats are small.

I like that: "We trust in Thee whatere befall." Thanks for sharing. Happy Spiritual Sunday.
This is a beautiful poem. I have always loved the ocean, but it can be really scary. I love the song Jesus is the Lighthouse. I need to look it up on U Tube and see if there is a video of it.
Thank you for sharing on Spiritual Sundays.

What an amazing poem! How sad for the men on that boat, what a sad accident. We all need to be ready! We never know when an accident will occur.
