OH NO! HERE WE GO AGAIN!!

This is what I'm dreaming of - - summer sunshine and birdbaths and birdhouses, flowers and green grass and warmth on my old bones! BUT - -noooooooooo, THIS is what we are getting tonight! Although, the winds are fiercer (up to 50 mile an hour gusts) the snow won't be as deep this time (only 3-6")...the photos shown below are from the storm of February 5th and 6th where we got 18" of snow with lots of drifting! Can I say how disappointing it is that we had just begun to see the ground again when this new storm popped up?

Well, the danged groundhog DID tell us of six more weeks of winter but he DIDN'T say anything about "snow hurricanes" which is what our local weathermen are telling us this unusual storm is - a "snow hurricane!" Hurry Spring!

Burr... although that type of snow that blankets everything in sight sure makes beautiful photos!

Blah...that is terrible. But it looks lovely...just wouldn't want to be there for your snow hurricane. I heard it was BAD though. Saw it on the news...hope you didn't loose power like so many did.

"Snow Hurricanes"? Isn't that just another way of saying "blizzard"?

Hi Alice,
Thank you for stopping by and visiting my blog!
According the weatherguessers, it has to do with the wind speed and wind direction making an "eye" just like a hurricane.
