NEEDED SOME PRETTIES TODAY!

Just adding a little brightness to my day. Cutting some of the last zinnias and wanted to get them on my blog today to enjoy before they are gone.

Close up of the pinks on my dining table. God's wonders never cease to amaze.

Here is a bouquet I put on my hall table to enjoy as I come inside. Love the deeper pink (magenta?) of these. I painted the sign at a Christian retreat last year.

Don't you just love the orange color of these (there were only two orange flowers this time amid all the pinks). These are on the table that is at the bottom of my stairs and the first thing I see when I come downstairs in the morning. I thought myself so clever to get this double image in the mirror (smile). I hope your day is full of color and smiles too.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 (NIV)

One of my favorite Psalms, and flower Jean, I plan to cut some tomorrow, plus gather seed for next year. Thank you for sharing your pretties.

Yes, summer flowers are quickly fading. We have only one pink in our wildflower garden - all the rest are orange. And far too much filler growth. It will all be coming out soon.

Ed and I will be seeing Jillian this weekend - staying at the Lovelace Manor near her home and looking very forward to a cool fall weekend in the country!

Joy!

My mother always had a garden full of them for picking. I don't think she even put them in this year. If she did, the drought got to them.

They are one of the happiest table flowers to me.

And I love the word DWELL there.
I think I want to make one with ABIDE. (Just to be different, ya know.)

I love how you take the time to enjoy the flowers and have such a green thumb. Something I have never been able to do! They make such cheery displays. ENJOY them while they are still around!

I love your beautiful, bright and colorful end-of-summer zinnias, Jean! What a great way to keep their beauty alive---in photos!

Hi Jean-

Mike is Mary Alice's and my brother, not Mary Alice's beau..lol! They were very close. He died in 1986.

John, MA's husband, is her first and only true love!

Jean, no offense taken at all. You just made me realize that the photos looked like Mike & Mary Alice were a couple, so I will change the caption. I'd labeled the pic of us 4 kids sitting with Santa Claus with all of our names, so I thought people would realize that Mike is our brother.
