I have been reading The Daily Walk Bible (NLT), published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. so I could read through the Bible in one year. I try to read the required chapters every morning, but I don't always succeed. However, by reading ahead when I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up I am almost up to date. Anyway, I realized that by the time Christmas rolled around I would be reading the book of Revelation. Now, as you know, that can be pretty heavy reading (I've been through Revelation with a Bible Study I attended a few years ago and as I said, pretty heavy reading). What would the reading be on Christmas Day, I wondered? Leafing ahead, I discovered that on December 25th, we would be reading from Matthew 1:18 - 2:12 and Luke 2:1-10! Right between Revelation chapters 4 - 9, is the story of Christmas they have titled, "The Original Christmas Present!" How neat is that? Bruce H. Wilkinson, Executive Editor of The Daily Walk and his staff had thought it through and decided to include the Nativity on Christmas Day.
I was given this Bible a few Christmas's ago and this is my second attempt to read it through in one year. Now I know it has been such a blessing to me that I wish I hadn't put if off so long.

It isn't easy to keep up with the read through the Bible in a year programs. You're doing great. Thanks for sharing with us.
Have a wonderful Sonday.

May you be successful- thanks for sharing how the spirit has led you this year-to read all of God's word. I chose to read the new testament this year and I have enjoyed. My goal for next year is to read the chronological version in a year.
The main thing is to be in the Word. It's not important how you do it. You have chosen a good way. But don't worry about being on schedule. Read the word every day and you will be blessed not just because you read it, but because of what you received from the message.
What an awesome goal. Happy Spiritual Sunday.
Good luck with your goal. I think it's wonderful that you will be reading the Nativity on Christmas.
*hugs*
Thank you for your kind comments. I appreciate them.
My husband and I read the bible everynight. We are almost completely done reading it through, and it has taken us 3 years. Then we will re-start again.

Absolutely fantastic post! Good job!
Great! Keep writing…….
Good week……… Welcome to my blog…….
Merry Christmas and happy New year.
I love daily Bibles, you can learn so much. I've been thinking about getting mine out again, I enjoyed it so much. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Kathi :)
Sounds like a great Bible... and how very thoughtful!
Neat, Ms. Daisy! I really liked what Clif had to say.
Who gave you the bible?
Jillian
Hi Jillian, Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes, Clif made an important point that I was completely missing...reading the Bible in one year is a great goal but even if I don't, I am still reading it and that is what counts.
KAB gave me the Bible for Christmas a couple of years ago.
You are so sweet.
Thank you for checking on me. I'm feeling much better.
Love Melissa
Good for you in that endeavour. I read the NT through every year (or at least once and a half times), a chapter of Proverbs every day (got that excellent advice from Billy Graham) and a Psalm. But I kind of baulk at long stretches in Leviticus and Kings! How is Bebe doing? I bet you are going to spoil her this Christmas!
Thanks for dropping by my blog. Yes, sisters are wonderful. I had two. And four brothers. They are all gone now. It's especially sad at this time of the year. But I have my own immediate family and my brothers and sisters in Christ. And in that, I rejoice!
