GOD HATH NOT PROMISED

God hath not promised skies always blue;
Flower strewn pathways all our lives through.
God hath not promised sun without rain;
Joy without sorrow; peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day;
Rest for the labor; light for the way;
Grace for the trials; help from above;
Unfailing sympathy;
-undying love.

This is great. I used this many times in sermons. God is always there for us providing just what we need. Thank you for posting this today. This is a gentle but forceful reminder of how great our God is.

WOW! That is so true. As long as he is there with me I can make it.

Spiritual Sunday as been a real blessing to me today as I have encountered favourite bible verses, poems and then, just as I'm about to go to bed, I turn to your blog and discover yet another favourite song. Thank you and God bless you. I shall now sleep well. Judith

Wow, that is sooooo weird. I just quoted the saying from the plaque we had in the kitchen on Rogers..."God never promised there wouldn't be rain"

Hope you are feeling better!

Wow! I think we're all there... needing to know that God is God... and I am NOT!
