When Mellie Jordan came to Paris, she was expecting to find romance; after all, this was the City of Light and every book she had ever read told her it was here she would find her love. Well, she hadn't found anything but a small apartment and a job she wasn't too happy about. When she asked neighbor, Lourence, to help her find a handyman to replant the flower box and paint the balcony, he seemed delighted to be of help. What she didn't know was that Lourence was anything but what he seemed. Then, into her life came detective Louie Verbance from the neighboring precinct, who is investigating a jewel theft which has taken place in their neighborhood. In this lighthearted novella, will Mellie find only mystery or will a mysterious someone show her the way to true happiness? (141)

I love a lighthearted mystery! Especially one involving a jewel theft and mysterious characters. Sounds like a winner to me!
This sounds like a wonderful romance, and I am completely drawn in. I want to know more about the man who is not what he seems, and about the detective...and the jewel theft...and Mellie, who is ripe for romance! This sounds like an Elizabeth Adler plot, and I LOVE her romances. And it sounds like I love your romances, too. :) I'm in!
I couldn't think of a way to use the window box! Light-hearted and mysterious ... I hope Melie finds happiness AND that it's fun getting there.
Ah, a little romance this week. This sounds like one of the Harlequins I used to read growing up.
The jewels are hidden in the flower box.........right? Oh boy. I'll never tell. I wanna live the dream too, in the city of lights.
5 rue Balard is my book blurb for the week.
Have a great Friday!!!
At least two possibilities for romance here - three, if you count the handyman! Precious jewels, theft, intrigue - wonderful!
Intrigue and romance...A wonderful combination.
You had me at Paris! LOL... where o where did you come up with Lourence?
Good stuff, Momma Jean.
Jean,
Wow, what a neat story! I know that I would enjoy reading it very much. Will he hide the jewels at the bottom of her flower box in a Ziplock bag, I wonder?
Have a great weekend!

You would make a fantastic romance novelist! You grabbed me from the get-go with your interesting characters and story line (and you used the flower box too!)
Love it! Jewels, romance and a mystery, great stuff. Love the name Mellie Jordan!
I'd read this one for sure. Wonder what there is about this photo that brings jewel theft to mind. It sparked that for me as well.
