I don't know about you, but I have become mesmerized by the Olympic Games. I wasn't even going to turn the TV on last night (8-8-08) but thought, oh well, I'll leave it on for background noise as I go to bloggerland. As it was, I turned on the opening ceremonies late as the dancers were "painting" the picture on the floor. My curiosity was peaked and the computer and everything else was forgotten as I watched spellbound. Fifteen thousand performers and not one, no not even one, performed twice! The scope of the performances, cast of thousands - of dancers, drummers or precision tai chi was just breathtaking and not a little intimidating! I have been watching the Olympics for many years and I do not think I have ever been so impressed with opening ceremonies anywhere. I certainly do not agree with China's politics, but China is a force to be reckoned with now...and into the future.

I sort of half heartedly thought of watching the opening but didn't. Then later my daughter came out and said how amazing they were. Could have kicked myself. But I did see the lighting of the torch and that was jaw dropping, to say the least.
Absolutely was jaw dropping! I talked to my daughter today and she and her hubby went shopping on Friday night! I told her some of what she missed and she said she could catch some of it on the internet.
Thanks for stopping by!

I didn't get to watch the very begining of the opening ceremonies....but I saw a good bit of it.
I hate that I missed the really cool cultural stuff. Ugh!!!
I did see parade of athletes and their flags though and the lighting of the torch and all that jazz. That's important to me. HA!
I am LOVING the Olympics this year from some reason.....weird. I'm watching it all the time.
I don't think I've done that before....
See ya!

Joyce, Thanks for stopping by! I know, I think I'm watching more of the olympics this year than I have in many years - don't know what it is except that I was hooked by the opening ceremonies - they were way cool! Can't wait to see what they do for the closing ceremonies! Ha!
I have seen some clips and what I saw was very glitzy and impressive.
I also saw the men's swimming team beat the French. WOW! Amazing. This is why we love the spirit of the olympic games.
