THE TEN COMMANDMENTS Hill Billy Style

Some people have trouble with all those 'shalls' and 'shall nots' in the Ten Commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, in the middle of Tennessee, they translated the 'King James' into 'Jackson County' language...no joke.
(posted on wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro, TN)

1. Just one God
2. Put nothin' before God
3. Watch yer mouth
4. Git yerself to Sunday meetin'
5. Honor yer Ma & Pa
6. No killin'
7. No foolin' around with another feller's gal
8. Don't take what ain't yers
9. No tellin' tales or gossipin'
10. Don't be hankerin' for yer buddie's stuff
Now that's plain an simple - - - Y'all have a nice day!

From an email I received that was funny, yet carried a very clear message! I hope this gives you a laugh or two (or at least a smile!) for Spiritual Sunday! A very big thank you to Charlotte and Ginger for hosting Spiritual Sundays.

Hi sister Daisy. Thanks for the "welcome" and nice to meet you. Your post is funny. I needed it as I am just tired today after night's work last night. Happy Sunday and God bless you.

This is funny stuff. The great truth of it all is that we need to make sure everybody understands what is being said. However, I guess most of us don't have a problem with understanding the commandments. We just have a problem in following them.

Hi, Daisy... I can always use a smile. Thanks!

I am always amazed at how pratical God's Word is, particularly the Ten Commandments. The Bible and those Commandments is the most pratical treatise on earth, and if we follow it, our lives are so much better.

XO,

Sheila :-)
