SIMPLE PLEASURES

One of the pleasures I recently found was quilting! Above you will see three of my efforts. To the left, an unfinished pillow top using the easiest (and the first quilting technique I learned) called "Log Cabin," in the middle is a completed pillow (leaning up against a white pillow) that was just a little more difficult though I loved making it! On the right is a bible tote bag in "Crazy Quilt." I am still working on the embroidery on the tote bag. To enjoy more Simple Pleasures please see my friend Dayle at A Collection of This and That.

Wow, Ms. Daisy, your pillows are lovely. I don't think I could ever do that! Great job! Susan

Jean, these are such wonderful projects. You did great! My mother is a master seamstress and loves the quilting process, although she sticks mostly with piecing (which looks like the hardest part to me), and often sends the big pieces out to be quilted.

When the weather cools off, I'm planning a special post (may turn it into a one-time party) for showing off some quilts.

I'm so impressed by those who can quilt. I am so inept in sewing beyond the straight seam and think it must be wonderful to make a work of art with your owns hands.

I love that log cabin design!

Just think of the simple pleasure you now have of passing these down.

These are so pretty and they are not even done. I wish I could find extra time to do some crafts.

Kudos to you on your quilting. You did a great job. I don't have the patience for it but wish I did. Maybe someday. :)

Hugs!

Lovely pillows, Jean. I've enjoyed making pillows and quilts in the past. Now I spend all (well at least most)of my time on the computer. LOL Quilting is definitely one of the simple pleasures of life. There was a time when it was a necessity. Now it is a pleasure.
Hugs,
Charlotte

Oh my goodness - I have always wanted to learn how to quilt. Can you make an entire quilt? Quilts when you sleep under them feel so good.

Love, sandie

Hi Jean - these are beautiful! I've never tried quilting (except for a state bird quilt that my mother and I embroidered nearly 30 years ago). I've managed to sew the blocks together, still needs some work. I plan to have my husband's aunt quilt it.

Thanks for the visit today. I'm also behind on visiting blogs.

Blessings,
Joan

Beautiful quilting! I have some quilters in my family - my sister and my mom, but not me. I do have some beautiful heirloom quilts though.
Wonderful job!

Thank you for visiting my blog for Simple Pleasures this week.

Congratulations on learning to quilt. It's always such a joy to learn something new. You did a beautiful job. The colors you chose look lovely together.

Jean, I apologize for taking so long to get over here! Thanks for coming by Far Above Rubies! I love these pillows. I used to have a log cabin quilt but I gave it away. I do have a quilt my great aunts made for me which I really treasure. It is not something I can do. I sew, but not sure I have the patience for quilting!
