One of the things I enjoy doing is walking my neighborhood for exercise and just seeing what is going on around me. My Simple Pleasure today is Old Glory! I love to see flags waving in the breeze and this one caught my eye and I just had to take a picture.

While I was out and about, I was also enjoying all the Halloween decorations and here, in my opinion, I caught the essence of the day at this home on my street.

We fly the flag at our house, and what a simple pleasure turning the corner and seeing it waving in the breeze.
I loved the pics you took. Felt like I was walking with you. (I have another simple pleasure while walking, and that's seeing if I can glimpse something pretty inside each house I pass.)
The flag looks wonderful against the backdrop of those homes!! many simple blessings..Trish
I love walking around my neighbourhood too. Flags look great blowing in the wind but I always feel sorry for them when it's not windy!
What is it about Old Glory waving in the breeze that just makes you want to stop for a minute? That's the effect it has on me, too.
I am standing in total agreement with this simple pleasure!
Being the (ex) wife of a former Navy man of 20 years, I LOVE seeing Old Glory blow in the breeze or anywhere for that matter. The feeling it provides is incredible, knowing what sacrifices were made so that we can live in the land of the free.
Love this simple pleasure, but one that comes with a high cost.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Cindy
Walking is a simple pleasure in itself. But being surrounded by so many wonderful things to see makes it even more pleasureable. Wishing you many blessings, Tammy
You know, the time to notice simple pleasures is when you are walking...when we are buzzing around we don't get a chance to take a breath.
I love old Glory, of course.

Love to see the flag waving, I live in the country, and cannot see my neighbors, but i do get to see many of God's creations around me. Thank you for sharing.

Don't you love those folks who still make an effort to fly the flag? Sounds like you're a careful observer, Jean ... that's a trait more of us need to cultivate!
