SIMPLE PLEASURES

Homeowners work is never done! When my old outside fixture finally gave out the other day, (and I'm not even remotely handy when it comes to electrical repairs) I had to stop and think about what I should do. I knew I could call an electrician ($$$$$$), but quickly decided that was not an option. My Son in laws are very willing to give a helping hand when they can, but, they live in other states and have their own families to care for.
I decided to go to our local Home Depot and get a replacement fixture. It was very inexpensive and should be very easy to hook up. Hehe, but NOT for me!
Over the years, I have collected a few cards from handy persons who have helped me from time to time. Not all of the cards I have collected are from people that I know and have used for work around my house, but I have them just in case! The card in the forefront is an example...I just picked up this card and have not used them for anything so I would have to ask for references. Anyway, my simple pleasure today is knowing that I can call someone I KNOW and TRUST, which, for me, is the most important aspect of hiring anyone.

I'm impressed you went to the home depot store! That's a start! Good job...and yes, a simple pleasure we often take for granted.

Yes indeed~! Do you have a card for someone who would come to Kuwait to get my home computer up and running again? I haven't been able to use my printer/scanner since the summer and I keep asking hubby to get it taken care of to no avail. Even lights in the bathroom that no longer work. Sometimes you truly do need a handyman when hubby doesn't fit that bill! :/ have a terrific day. Tammy

Sometimes you just have to get a 'professional' in to do the job.
It's great when you find a really good one you trust to do the work and not over-charge you!
bless you Jean..Trish

YES! Finding the perfect handyman is indeed a simple pleasure, although the process isn't always simple. :) Loved this, Jean. Very unique.

This is a great one, and I agree that having someone you can call and trust is a wonderful thing. I think a list of names is a very nice part of a house warming gift when someone moves in from out of town.

Hope it's all good as new in no time.

Finding someone whom we can trust is definite a simple pleasure. One that often gets overlooked.

Great simple pleasure.

What a treat to find your 'footprint' in my comment box... AND to have a chance to return the visit to your own blog.

A most delightful visit. Loved seeing all the lovely paintings and photos.
