SIMPLE PLEASURES

Early in April, the daffodils were out. After the long, dreary winter they looked wonderful and I couldn't stop looking at them from my sliding glass doors.

I then brought some inside so I could enjoy them even more.

Now it is almost May and the azaleas just came into bloom.

...and I'm sure if I asked my neighbors really nicely, they would let me have a bouquet of their lovely lilacs! That's my Simple Pleasure today...loving the way the world comes into bloom in early spring.

I have decided that one of my favorite things about being a blogger is that I get to see spring unfold over and over across the country.

I love lilacs. I wish we could keep them blooming here. My mother tried to transport some to her home in Georgia. It took her seven years to get blooms, but she did. Unfortunately, they didn't survive our recent drought.

Your azaleas have really bloomed big time! Only one has started blooming out of our row in the driveway. My favorite time to look out the front windows!

A great simple pleasure.

Jean your flowers are beautiful!
All your Spring blooms are awakening as mine are falling asleep.
Living at opposites sides of the globe means, I can enjoy Spring before it gets down, here by visiting friends like you :-)

I agree with Debbie. It's pretty wonderful to see how spring arrives in different parts of the country, and at varying times. I love your daffodils.

Jean - lovely photos. Daffodils are one of the first signs of springs. And I love lilacs and azaleas - ours have already faded. Thanks for sharing the beauty today.

I love flowers too. Your lilacs are gorgeous. I've just come back from Devon which is in southern England and the lilacs down there were stunning. Love the azaleas too, I have some of them just now in my garden.

Jean,
It's so odd....our "Spring flowers" have been over with for so long that I forget that the rest of America is now enjoying them.
I thought this was an old photo until I read your post and realized that we are in just into May. It's been in the upper 80's here and nearly 90. Blah!
Enjoy your simple days...

Your azaleas are stunning! Mine are just coming in to full bloom, but they're not as profuse as yours. Lovely spring post, Jean!
